In this new release of Revit, it is exciting to see the ease with which it is possible to create exploded axonometric views, perspective views and diagrammatic 3D views. I remember using a lengthy process to accomplish this in the previous releases.
There is now a ‘Displace Elements’ tool on the View panel of the Modify tab that becomes available when you select elements in a 3D view, and this lets you move the elements away from the model by either using the ‘XYZ’ gizmo or by typing in the distances in the properties palette. You can also drop paths to display how the displaced/moved objects are connected to their original locations in the model. The nice thing is that this ‘displacement’ is specific only to the 3D view you are working in and does not affect the rest of the model; it also works on parts and assemblies!
